DOWER/MEHAR: It is sum of money or other property which wife is entitled to get from her husband in consideration of marriage
TALUQ: It is divorce given by husband to wife through uttering Talaq three times.
2017 Supreme Court ruling that the practice of instant triple Talaq is unconstitutional and a divorce pronounced by uttering Talaq three times in one sitting is void and illegal.
IDDAT: It is 45 days gap between two talaq's.
MUBARAT: It is divorce given by both husband and wife through mutual understanding.
KHULA/KHAL: Divorce from wife side.
BILLA MARRIAGE -Temporary Marriage Women have freedom for giving divorce.
MUTA MARRIAGE -Temporary Marriage - Men have freedom for giving divorce.
THE CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE
Christians practice Monogamy.
Polygyny, Polyyandry strictly prohibited among Christians.
The Indian Christian Marriage Act 1872 amended in 1891, 1903, 1911, 1928, 1928 covers all aspects of Christian marriages.
Divorce allowed among Christians.
There is no practice of dowry or bride price among Christians
Remarriage of the widows is not only accepted but encouraged among Christians
