In Hindi Vihaha means "CARRYING AWAY GIRL".

As per Hindu Marriage Act 1956 Hindu marriage is contract


I. BRAHMA MARRIAGE:
Father gifts his daughter to a learned man of good character.


II. DAIVA MARRIAGE: 
Father gifts his daughter to young priest 


III. ARSHA MARRIAGE: 
1. Future son-in-law makes the gift of a bull and cow to girl's father.
2. In return father gifts his daughter to boy 

IV. ASURA MARRIAGE: 
Boy will purchase girl from her father


V. GANDHARVA MARRIAGE:
 It is marriage based on mutual love.


VI. PRAJAPATYA  MARRIAGE: 
1. Father gifts his daughter to a man, after duly honoring him and advise the couple to perform dharma together.
2. Here boy learning is not important, but in Brahma marriage his learning is important.
3. After marriage groom should stay in Bride parents house


VII. RAKSHASA MARRIAGE: 
Boy forcefully take away girl and marry her


VIII. PAISHACHA MARRIAGE: 
1.Boy will have Sexual activity with intoxicated girl who is in sleep or unconscious or unsound. 
2. Due to Lack of alternative Girl marry Boy

KANYADHANA 
Father gift his daughter as gift to boy

VIVAHA HOMA 
Homa or Fire act as witness for marriage

SAPTAPADI
walking of the bride and bridegroom over seven steps,
In every step is coin placed on floor
Both bride and bride groom walk on coins
