Founded in 1347 by Abul Muzaffar (Alauddin Hasan Bahman Shah) during the reign of Mohammad Bin Tughlaq.
Gulbarga was his capital, renamed it as Ahsanabad. Ahmad Shah transferred his capital from Gulbarga to Bidar.
Humayun, a Bahmani Sultan, was called Zalim. Khawaja Mahmud Gawan was the chief advisor of Mohammad Shah-III. He captured Goa from Vijaynagar and looted the Kanchi temples.
By the first decade of the 16th century the Bahmani Kingdom was split into 5 independent units: (i) Bijapur (1489): Adil Shahi dynasty; (ii) Ahmednagar (1490): Nizam Shahi dynasty; (iii) Berar (1484): Imad Shahi dynasty; (iv) Golconda (1512): Qutab Shahi dynasty and (v) Bidar (1526): Barid Shahi dynasty.
Qts2 Write about Adil Shahi of Bijapur
(i) Adil Shahi of Bijapur (1490-1686): Founded by Yusuf Adil Shah. Greatest ruler was Ibrahim Adil Shah. Introduced Dakhini in place of Persian as court language, Gol Gumbaz, was built by Muhammad Adil Shah. It is also famous for the so-called Wispering Gallery. Bijapur was later conquered and annexed by Aurangzeb (1687).

Nizam Shahi of Ahmednagar (1490-1633): Founder of city of Ahmednagar and the Kingdom was Ahmad Nizam Shah. Later conquered and annexed by Shah Jahan (1633).

Imad Shahi of Berar (1490-1574): Founded by Fatullah Khan Imad-ul-mulk with Daulatared as capital, Later it was conquered and annexed by one of the Nizam Shallers of Ahmednagar.

Qutub Shahi of Golconda (1518-1687): Founded by Quli Qutub Shah (1518-43) who built the famous Golconda fort and made it his capital. Another Qutub Shahi ruler, Muhammad Quli Que Shah, was the greatest of all and it was lie who founded the city of Hyderabad (originally known as Bhagyanagar after the name of the Sultan's favourite, Bhagyamati) and he also built the famous Charminar. Most important port of Qutub Shahi Kingdom was Masulipatnam. The kingdom was later annexed by Aurangzeb (1687).

Barid Shahi of Bidar (1528-1619): Founded by Ali Barid. It was later annexed by the Adil Shahis of Bijapur.
