 Qts1 Write about Qutubuddin Aibak

1. Qutubuddin Aibak founded Slave dynasty

Qts 2 Write about Shamsuddin Iltutmish

 1. Iltutmish was the real founder of Delhi Sultanate. 

2. Iltutmish made Delhi the capital in place of Lahore
 
3.Iltutmish saved Delhi Sultanate from the wrath of Chengiz Khan (the Mongol leader) by refusing shelter to Khwarizm Shah, whom Chengiz was chasing.

4.Iltutmish   got his authority (Sultanate of Delhi) recognized by the Caliph of Baghdad (Khalifa),

5. Iltutmish formed Turkan-i-Chahalgani or Chalisa (a group of 40 powerful Turkish nobles).

6. Iltutmish  divided his empire into Iqtas, the system of assigning of land in lieu of salary, which he distributed to his officers. 

7. Iltutmish   introduced, the Silver Tanka and the Copper Jital, two basic coins 
 
8. Iltutmish  patronised Minhaj-us-siraj, author of Tabaqat-i-Nasiri.
  
9. Iltutmish  is called the Father of Tomb Building (built Sultan Garhi).



Qts3 Write about Razia Sultana (1236-1240 AD) 

1. Razia was popular among the people but she was not acceptable to the nobles and theologians.

 2. Razia  further offended the nobles by liking an Abyssinian slave-Yakut. 

3. Razia discarded the female apparel and started holding the court with her face unveiled.

4. There was a serious rebellion in Bhatinda. Altunia (Governor of Bhatinda) refused to accept suzerainty of Razia.

5. Razia   accompanied by Yakut marched against Altunia. 

6. Altunia got Yakut murdered and imprisoned Razia.

7. Subsequently, Razia married Altunia 

8. Razia and Altunia   marched towards Delhi.

9. In 1240 AD, Razia  assassinated near Kaithal (Haryana).



Qts 4 Write  about Ghiyasuddin Balban (1265-1286 AD)

1. Ghiyasuddin Balban, who was also known as Ulugh Khan

2. Balban  was a member of the chalisa or chahalgani
 
 3. Balban broke the power of chahalgani

4. Balban  declared the Sultan as the representative of God on earth.

5. Balban  declared king was the deputy of God (Niyabat-i-Khudai) and the shadow of God 
(Zil-i-Ilahi).

 6. Balban  also instructed to the ulemas to confine themselves to religious affairs and not to engage in political activities.

 7. Balban  introduced Sijdah or Paibos practice

8. Paibos are the normal form of Salutations to the king

9. Sijdah means bowing down and touching  head to the Sulthan's feet to show salutations

10. Balban ordered the separation of military department  (diwan-i-ariz). from the finance department (diwan-i-wizarat)
