3.THE KHALJI DYNASTY

 THE KHALJI DYNASTY (1290 - 1320 AD)

-A group of Khalil nobles led by jalauddin Khalil. overthrew the incompetent successors of balban in AD 1290 the Kahalji rebellion was welcomed by the non- Turkish nobility, The Khalkis did not exclude the Turks from high and did not ended the Turkish monopoly.

Jalauddin Kahalji (1290-1296 AD)

- jalauddin Kahalji founded the Kahalji dynast.

-Married his daughters to Ulugh Kahn descendant of changes Khan, to win their good will.

- He adopted the policy of tolerance and avoiding hash punishment.

-The most important aspect of his region was the invasion of Devagiri in 1294, by his nephew and son - in - law Aladdin Kahalji.

Aladdin Kalji (1296 - 1316AD)

- Alaudidn Kahalji ascended the throne after getting his uncle and father - in -law jalauddin murdered.

- He was the first turkish sultan of Delhi who separated religion from politics. He proclaimed Kingship Knows no Kinship.

-He firstly conquered Gujarat and married raja's wife kamala Devi and acquired Malik Kufuor from there. Then he annexed Ranthmbhor (1301) Mewer(1303)Mulwa (1305 jailor (1311 ) In Deccan, Alauddin's army led by Malik Kaur malwa ( 1305) jailor (1311 ) In deccan Alauddin's army led by Malik Kafue defeated ram Chandra (yadvaruler ruler of Devagiri) Pratap Rudradeva (Kakatiya ruler of Warangal) vir bulla III (Kosala ruler of Dwarsamudrea) and virpandya (Pandya ruler of Madurai)

-He is said to have reached as far as Rameshwarm, where he build a mosque.

- He introduced the system of Dash (the branding of horse) and chechia (descriptive roll of soldiers) ordered that all and was to be measured the share of state was to be fixed. The post of specials officers were created called dmustakharj (for collection of revenue.)
